AbstractA review of the literature concerning 37 cases of long-standing dislocation of the temporomandibular joint is presented. 3 new cases are added. A wide variety of methods of treatment has been used in the past. A survey of these methods will be given and a scheme of recommendation for managing the different clinical situations will be discussed.
