AbstractIsolated volar fracture dislocation of the carpometacarpal joint of the index finger is a rare injury and has apparently not previously been reported. We are presenting a case treated by delayed open reduction and internal fixation. Satisfactory but not anatomic reduction was obtained. The literature and anatomic factors are discussed.
