    AbstractThis three-part series on disclosure of unanticipated outcomes in health care is intended to provide an overview of the current thinking about disclosure and steps the organization can take to develop an approach to disclosure that is comprehensive and supportive of the needs of patients, families and providers. What should be apparent is that disclosure is not simply a requirement--it is a philosophy and part of a comprehensive approach to patient/family communication.
