AbstractTwo cases of stone formation on double J ureteral catheter are described. Resolution was achieved by ESWL in one and by simple endoscopic removal in the other case with calcification in the distal J. The appearance of calcareous encrustation is frequent and depends on various factors especially the length of time the catheter is left indwelling, urinary stasis and infection. The efficacy of extracorporeal lithotripsy in resolving this complication is discussed.
