AbstractThe mission of aeromedical evacuation of patients, whether in peacetime, wartime or under unexpected conditions (earthquake, flood etc) will remain the same. Aeromedical evacuation systems have become an integral part of the practice of critical care medicine. These systems provide interhospital transport of critically ill or severely injured patients. Understanding the medical aspects of flights and the capabilities of the aeromedical environment will help to evacuate patients in a safe and a proper manner.
