    AbstractNeuronavigation (computer-aided surgery planning and performance) has proven to be helpful in performing neurosurgical operations. The experiences of our department gained on more than 500 patients operated upon will be presented, with special focus on more than 100 operations for lesions on the skull base. Navigation is one of several modern surgical tools, its value cannot be defined without observing other improvements e.g. in the area of preoperative diagnostics, intraoperative monitoring, microsurgical instruments and microsurgical approaches.
