    AbstractMassive gas embolism during cardiopulmonary bypass is a rare but ever-present danger. Following this catastrophic event, the immediate institution of core cooling on bypass may be advantageous. The remarkable complete recovery of our patient is attributed to this technique, which was used in conjunction with standard therapy.
