    AbstractFamily physicians can manage most finger injuries, including uncomplicated fractures, proximal interphalangeal joint dislocations, closed tendon injuries and ligament sprains. Finger injuries that can cause long-term morbidity may present as minor sprains. Diagnosis requires a thorough history, systematic examination and radiographic evaluation.
