AbstractElderly patients have particular needs and risks during the perioperative period. The physical and psychological condition of each patient should be assessed to accurately determine and meet those needs. The risk of hypothermia can be avoided and/or treated by careful preparation of the patient and the operating room environment. Perioperative nurses can implement changes and precautions that will make the elderly patient more comfortable and minimize the complications of hypothermia.
