AbstractUnintentional hypothermia in the operating theatre is often overlooked. Older people who have sustained trauma are vulnerable to hypothermia during surgery. Inadvertent hypothermia can have a number of adverse effects. Critical incident analysis can encourage nurses to challenge ritualistic practice.
