AbstractThe paper presents 22 patients (9 male, 13 female; 13 unilateral, 9 bilateral) with temporomandibular ankylosis and dentofacial deformities treated by arthroplasty and orthognathic operations. The results were satisfactory. The key point is to ensure the function of mouth opening and correction of dentofacial deformities caused by ankylosis. The indications for one-stage or two-stage surgical correction are discussed.
