AbstractForty-eight children aged 4 to 15 years, with an ASA I-II physical status, were examined. The patients underwent short mini-invasive surgical interventions under intravenous anesthesia using ketamine and propofol. The examinees were divided into 2 age groups: 1) 20 children aged 4 to 7 years; 2) 28 aged 8 to 15 years. The clinical picture of the postoperative period, central hemodynamics, acid-base balance, and blood gas composition were studied. The changes in the parameters were identical in both groups. The specific features of the course of emergence from propofol-ketamine anesthesia require that the patients should be postoperatively observed.
