AbstractIn the reorganized NHS, contracts and financial pressures threaten the high quality of care that most doctors would like to give. Quality management and clinical audit are the managerial processes by which high standards can be maintained and financed in this contracting environment. Doctors should welcome and lead this process to guarantee high standards of care for their patients.
