AbstractWith most states facing severe budget shortfalls, community health centers and Medicaid programs could be in for major funding cuts, threatening the health care safety net and putting hospital emergency departments on the line to fill the gap. "Hospitals and community health centers are going to have to work a lot more closely together in the future," says Craig Becker, president of the Tennessee Hospital Association.
