AbstractIn 463 patients the total intravenous anesthesia technique was applied, for which sleep was induced with etomidate and analgesia was obtained with fentanyl. This technique, which prevents pollution of the air, appeared to be easily applicable and without major complications in either spontaneously breathing or ventilated patients.
