AbstractReflex sympathetic dystrophy, or as it is now known, complex regional pain syndrome, Type 1, is an unusual complication of a variety of injuries whose development should be suspected in the presence of disproportionate pain coupled with autonomic disturbance. Early recognition and treatment with multimodality therapy offer a high probability of recovery.
