AbstractLiver biopsy is an invasive procedure which is widely used for the management of liver diseases. An asymptomatic pneumothorax was detected on sonography prior to biopsy for chronic hepatitis C. The complications from biopsy, potentially severe, are decreased by ultrasound guidance. Currently, ultrasound guidance is recommended at the time of liver biopsy.
