AbstractThe results of the angiobronchological examination of 229 patients are presented, among them 175 with cystic hypoplasia of the lung, and 54 with acquired cyst-like bronchiectases. One hundred and nineteen of them were operated on. On the basis of investigations of cystic hypoplasia in newborns (9 observations) the morphological criteria of congenital malformations of the lung in adults were established. The clinical, roentgenological, angiographic, and functional data in both groups of patients were compared. The pecularities of pathogenesis of cystic hypoplasia and the indications for surgical treatment of the different patterns of the disease were defined. The late results (up to 10 years) proved favourable in 74% of surgically treated cases.
