    AbstractThe intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) is a valuable tool in the treatment of cardiogenic shock or instable myocardial ischaemia. We report on our recent experience with interhospital transport of haemodynamically unstable patients using on-site stabilization with IABP. A 75% survival rate encourages us to keep using this technique despite the logistic efforts it demands.
