AbstractCellular immunity has been studied in women after surgical delivery. Initial immune deficiency has been found in all the patients. Postoperative changes in the immune status have been compared after standard general anesthesia and after spinal anesthesia. Minimum effect of spinal anesthesia on the immune status, as compared to general anesthesia, has been established. The use of spinal anesthesia is recommended during cesarean section in patients with immune deficiencies.
