AbstractThere are no national regulatory standards from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration for anesthetic gases. Moreover, there is little data to confirm that current scavenging and exhaust ventilation systems reduce exposure below recommended limits. Operating theater personnel and workers in postanesthesia units are especially at risk.
