    AbstractChanges in the National Health Service have had important effects on the way in which healthcare professionals will do their jobs in the future. In parallel there have been important developments in the training of professionals. This article analyses these changes and their consequences for health services, professionals and professions. The effects may be as great as those of the NHS reforms.
