AbstractThe authors present two cases of ruptured cerebral aneurysms in patients with sickle cell anemia. Only three previous cases with similar presentations have been reported. The various complications of sickle cell anemia and ruptured aneurysms are reviewed. The importance of early aggressive adjunctive medical management, including the use of partial exchange transfusions and surgical intervention, is emphasized.
