AbstractThis article examines the historical development of topical negative pressure (TNP) therapy, the growing range of devices available and future possibilities for this treatment. The use of vacuum-assisted closure (VAC), different negative pressure settings and alternative TNP devices are discussed. Further guidance and robust clinical evidence are required to support the use of TNP in practice.
