    AbstractAn initial assessment process, called navigation, has been introduced at Medway Maritime Hospital emergency department (ED) to address problems with the triage system and to meet the latest ED quality clinical indicators. This article explains the rationale for introducing the new assessment process, describes the system and discusses the change-management process needed to implement it. -
