    AbstractThe article presents a description of a Cesarean section in 1821, which is an authentic source documenting the first Cesarean section in Poland. Until now it has been accepted that the first documented Cesarean sections were performed in 1826, 1836 or 1870. The article points that the technique of the operation presented was similar to generally accepted procedures of abdominal operative delivery.
