AbstractRationale, surgical techniques, and results in 70 patients with complex partial seizures who underwent temporal lobectomy with sparing of the amygdala are discussed. Removal of entorhinal cortex may be the common denominator that explains the similar results obtained with different types of temporal lobectomies for epilepsy.
