AbstractA case of a 69-year-old woman with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) complicated by cardiogenic shock and in-hospital cardiac arrest is presented. During prolonged (60 min) cardiopulmonary resuscitation successful complex coronary angioplasty with stenting of the left anterior descending coronary artery was performed, after which the patient recovered completely. The total time of cardiac arrest was 60 min, including the approximately 45-minute period of asystole. Post-resuscitation course was uneventful and neurological examination was normal. The patient, free of cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological symptoms, was discharged from hospital after 16 days.
