AbstractWhen traumatic abdominal injury and acute appendicitis occur within a short period of time, the diagnosis can be difficult and may result in a delay in treatment of the appendicitis. We report the case of a four-year-old boy with documented intraabdominal injury from a motor vehicle crash who developed appendicitis while hospitalized and recovering from his injuries.
