AbstractExperiences with nasotracheal intubation in the primary management of 157 severe burns of the face and neck are reported. The indication for intubation is provided by the pathophysiology of these cases. Complications are minimized by a careful technique that makes due allowance to the individual anantomical features. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed.
