AbstractCalcaneal fractures in young children are seen very infrequently. Intraarticular calcaneal fractures in children under the age of ten years make up 8-39% of the calcaneal fractures in that age group, and most often non or only a slight displacement is seen. The diagnosis can be delayed because of unclear symptomatology. Generally the treatment is conservative and the prognosis very good. Two cases of severely displaced intraarticular calcaneal fractures in children aged six and ten years are presented together with a survey of the literature.
