AbstractRadiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive cancer treatment used as an alternative for unresectable hepatic malignancies. Tumor ablation implies direct application of thermal or chemical therapies on a specific focal tumor. The aim of radiofrequency ablation is a total eradication of the tumor or at least a substantial tumor destruction. The thermal energy can be heat (radiofrequency, laser, microwave,...) or cold (cryoablation).
