AbstractWe try to show the function of pen names for Romain Kacew, who was twice rewarded by the Goncourt prize, under two pseudonyms, Romain Gary, then Emile Ajar. We make the hypothesis that to put into reality the fantasy which is the basis of his being, leads the subject R. Kacew to commit suicide. It seems, from our point of view, that there is a correlation between this fantasy, which could be subsumed by: "a toy maker", and the enigma of his mother's desire, supported by the significant "Mermont" (Sea berg).
