AbstractA case of aneurysm of the mitral valve associated with aortic valve regurgitation is presented. The patient was 45-years-old female who complained of palpitation and underwent both aortic and mitral valve replacement. We could not detect the aneurysm by the transthoracic echocardiography because of it's small size (14 mm in diameter). The transesophageal echocardiography showed the aneurysm of the anterior mitral valve leaflet toward the left atrium clearly. This report describes that transesophageal echocardiography appears to be available for accurate diagnosis of the mitral valve disease, especially for the mitral valve aneurysm.
