AbstractThe diagnosis of thoracic injuries is now accomplished by a combination of time-honored techniques and new modalities such as echocardiography, CT, and thoracoscopy. Operative approaches are reserved for exsanguination, significant false aneurysms, tamponade, and perforation of the main aerodigestive tracts.
