AbstractThe sudden injury, illness, or death of a loved one leaves family members unprepared to deal with the stress of the situation. Hospital staff members should have the special knowledge and skills needed to support both the patient and his/her family. This article provides useful information for ensuring that the support process is healthy for all those involved.
