AbstractDiffusion MRI gives information that is not available with conventional MRI examinations. It can provide early diagnosis of stroke and helps in diagnosing cerebral lymphoma, cerebral bacterial abscess, and epidermoid cyst. It helps distinguish between vasogenic edema and cytotoxic edema and has prognostic value. Acquisition is fast and should be performed in all neuroradiological examinations.
