AbstractThe authors present a case of an infected nonunion of the humerus treated initially with reaming of the medullar canal followed by the introduction of an antibiotic-impregnated intramedullary rod. Reconstruction of the humerus with bone fixation and bone graft was performed in a second stage. The final result was healing of the fracture and a good functional result with no evidence of recurrence of infection at a 25 months follow up.
