    Complications associated with surgery in the flank position for urological procedures.

    AbstractThe flank position is frequently used for certain urological surgical procedures and it may lead to several complications. a retrospective study was undertaken on charts of patients in the flank position who underwent urological surgical procedures during 1977 and 1978. Hypotension and post operative pulmonary complications occurred in 33.3% and 19% of these patients respectively. Various recommendations are made to prevent these complications from occurring.
