AbstractWe describe a young female with subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) who developed neurogenic pulmonary edema (NPE). The symptoms of NPE were associated with severe mitral regurgitation. Both NPE and mitral insufficiency were completely reversible. The pathogenesis of NPE and cardiac injury is discussed.
