    IntroductionTo accurate the diagnosis and treatment of retropharyngeal hematoma.Material And MethodsThe authors show a case of retropharyngeal hematoma that appears just after a difficult and urgent orotracheal intubation.DiscussionThe retropharyngeal hematomas use to be spontaneously uptaken so that treatment may be observation. Sometimes, a surgical drainage is needed. Etiology, clinical signs, diagnosis and surgical indications are reviewed.
