    AbstractPatients with tumors of the head and neck region commonly suffer from chronic pain, which is often treated insufficiently. Pain management according to the WHO analgesic ladder can effectively reduce pain in most patients. For head and neck cancer, specific aspects of tumor localization and psychosocial factors must be taken into consideration.
