AbstractThe purposes of this paper were to determine the indications, feasibility, outcome, complications and costs of laparoscopic hysterectomy utilizing the Pelosi single umbilical puncture technique and to introduce in Latinoamérica this minimally invasive and inexpensive alternative of laparoscopic hysterectomy. Ours results suggest that laparoscopic hysterectomy using a single umbilical puncture approach is a safe, inexpensive and effective alternative when compared with other techniques of laparoscopic hysterectomy.
