    AbstractA 53-year-old man presented to the ED with refractory ventricular fibrillation secondary to an occluded proximal left anterior descending coronary artery. We report the first case of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation instituted in our ED. It is one of the few reports in the literature of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation being utilized in the ED as a resuscitation measure.
