AbstractIntravascular volume therapy represents one of the pillars of medical actions during inpatient treatment and is dealt with in the S3 guidelines on "intravascular volume therapy in adults". The target group of the guidelines are physicians who must carry out intravascular volume therapy as a component of patient treatment. This article critically reviews and summarizes the essential recommendations.
