AbstractWe review techniques and approaches used in the resuscitation of newborns. Charts and tables are provided with respect to what equipment is needed, length of catheter and tube, and drug doses. All maternity centres and neonatal units need to train their staff in the proper procedures and techniques for the resuscitation of newborn infants. This training is an integral part of quality control measures. The present article is intended as an aid in the training of medical personnel, and may be used to support other means of instruction such as audiotapes, videotapes, lectures, and hands-on exercises.
