AbstractAn unusual case of traumatic arthritis associated with acute dislocation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), successfully treated by arthroscopy, is reported. The intraarticular pathology is described and the management of arthroscopic lysis and lavage for traumatic arthritis of the TMJ is discussed.
