AbstractMost health care organizations in Canada employ quality improvement methods and tools to secure internal efficiencies rather than to achieve broader strategic aims or improve key clinical processes. If quality improvement efforts are to have much impact on the quality of Canadian health care, health care leaders must increase their advocacy of quality improvement methods and demonstrate that these can be used to achieve health care reform.
