AbstractLesions of the nervous systems often result in difficult to treat pain syndromes. Neuropathic pain has increasingly gained attention from clinicians as a result of a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms and the development of proven analgesic therapies. This article provides an update on the diagnosis and treatment of neuropathic pain.
