    [Comparative characteristics of hydroxyzine (atarax) and diazepam in the premedication regimen in children in dental practice].

    AbstractThe effects of hydroxyzine, 2 mg/kg, versus diazepam, 0.5 mg/kg, given orally, on hemodynamics, respiration, and sedative background were studied. The anxiolytic effect of hydroxyzine was higher than that of diazepam. Hydroxyzine showed a minimum effect on hemodynamic and respiratory parameters in children in dental practice before oral sanitation using general anesthesia.
